New Fish at Last
After an extended period without refreshing my fish stocks, I decided today to give each tank a small population boost.
The original tank, as seen on Fish-Cam, had lost a couple of Neon's and the snail population is getting out of control. So I've brought back a small Clown Loach. I know these guys like a party, but I am planning a bigger tank at the moment which will be perfect fro Clowns, and I have put two more clowns in the other tank.
That's right, my second tank has now got two clowns. The tank had been feeling a bit empty, only one Bristlenose has survived, and the female Parkinson Rainbowfish had died, so I was getting a problem with balancing the food for just 2 fish in a large tank.
So I have introduced a school of tiny Harlequin Rasboras too. There's about 15 of these guys and I'll expect them to clean up any food the rainbow ignores. I try very hard not to overfeed, but recently I've been down to once every two days and he still leaves food floating about!
Anyway, when the big tank is ready, all three clowns will move in there and have a nice river sand bottom to play on. I'm going to be using natural river sand from a river on my dad's property, it should be nicely balanced and perfect for my plants too. I'll post some info and pics of the new inhabitants soon, as well as photos of the new tank as it gets setup.
